Passion has fueled my drive to create emotionally captivating imagery for the advertising industry for over 30 years. This passion grew from studying advertising media at a young age to waking up at dawn to catch the perfect glow of natural light and pursuing a lifelong career dedicated to perfecting my art. Specializing in lighting techniques ranging from strobe to continuous light, I learned to master my trade through working with many great photographers in the Detroit market. To this day, the manipulation of light is one of the most enjoyable elements of any project, superseded only by my love of working with people.
Capturing the true personality and character of a person within the confines of a static picture is at the core of my work. Celebrating the uniqueness and diversity of each person who steps in front of my lens has always inspired me, whether it is a veteran model or someone I met on a walk through the city. I've worked with a multitude of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to non-profit organizations and every face had its own unique story to tell. The true joy for me is bringing those stories to life through images. Stories that are so strong that I never forget them. And the best part of all is the times that those faces turn into lifelong friends.
I have been very fortunate to be recognized by my peers in the advertising industry and the photography community. Throughout the years I have received many awards with some of the most notable being Photoshop World Conference Best of Show, Photoshop Guru Award, International Annual Report Awards, and American Advertising Federation. Others include Davey Award, International Color Award, and Lucie Technical Award.
I have been very proud to be affiliated with many great companies in the imaging community. Because of my background in lighting, I have been consulting companies on product development for many years. In 2016 I became a partner and officer of one such company for 2 1/2 years. During my time there as Chief Product Office and Chief Brand Officer, I worked on 84 unique or modified products, chalked up 5 patents/patent pending, and earned the company an unprecedented 5 industry awards. I continue to consult with companies throughout the industry to bring unique lighting products to the industry. Since early 2023 I have an additional 2 patent pending with more to come.
